Learn more about the Lurie Center for Autism
Thursday, June 14, 2012
Congratulations to Chris McDougle, MD, the first incumbent of the Nancy Lurie Marks Professorship in the Field of Autism at Harvard Medical School. Dr. McDougle joined Massachusetts General Hospital last fall as the inaugural director of the Lurie Center for Autism.
An internationally renowned expert in discovering treatments for neurodevelopmental disorders that extend into adulthood, Dr. McDougle started out treating adults with autism, a patient population sometimes overlooked despite their important needs. This new chair will enable Dr. McDougle and future autism specialists to explore better and faster ways to diagnose and treat pediatric and adult patients with autism spectrum disorders.
We are deeply grateful to Nancy Lurie Marks and the Nancy Lurie Marks Family Foundation for their ongoing support of autism care and research at Mass General.
