By subway
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), also known as the T, provides convenient access to MassGeneral Hospital for Children. The T is Boston’s subway system and is comprised of four easy-to-follow color-coded lines.
The easiest way to get to MassGeneral Hospital for Children is to take the Red Line and get off at the Charles Street / MGH stop. Please note: The Charles Street/MGH stop is not currently handicapped accessible. The closest handicapped accessible stop is North Station on the Orange line, which is serviced by a free Partners shuttle bus to the hospital. You can catch the bus directly outside the station on Causeway Street. For more information about Partners Shuttle buses, please call 617-726-2250.
To get to MassGeneral Hospital for Children from the Charles Street / MGH stop, follow these directions:
- Follow the exit signs to Massachusetts General Hospital
- Follow Cambridge Street one block
- Take a left onto North Grove Street and go to the main entrance
By commuter rail or AMTRAK
To get to MassGeneral Hospital for Children by Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail or by AMTRAK from another city, take a train to Boston to South Station or North Station. Follow these directions to the hospital:
From South Station
- Take the Alewife-bound Red Line train to Charles Street / MGH Station
- Follow the exit signs to Massachusetts General Hospital
- Follow Cambridge Street one block
- Take left onto North Grove Street and go to the main entrance
From North Station
Take the free Partners Healthcare shuttle bus to the hospital campus.
