If you need additional child care services while your son or daughter is a patient at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, you may have the option to use the Massachusetts General Hospital Backup Childcare Center.
Children aged 9 months to 12 years are welcome in the nurturing and fun environment of the Backup Childcare Center, which provides supplemental child care during emergency situations. Children at the center have access to age-appropriate play equipment and are supervised by teachers certified by the Department of Early Education and Care.
The Backup Childcare Center is located in the lobby of the Warren Building on the main hospital campus. Patients in need of backup child care must make a reservation by calling 617-724-7100, Monday through Friday, between 6:30 am and 5:45 pm, or by leaving a message after hours. The center provides care at an hourly rate.
The center welcomes all Mass General patients as well as children of Partners employees.
