The Blum Patient and Family Learning Center is a comprehensive resource for families on health and wellness, including pediatric health. Whether you’re looking for information on colds and flu, pediatric cardiovascular disease, or rare disorders, you’ll find everything you need right here. Set up as a library, the Blum Patient and Family Learning Center serves thousands of parents each year, all interested in learning more about their families’ health.
The Center subscribes to a number of medical and health publications as well as online content. Books and videos at a variety of reading and comprehension levels are available to parents and children to help them better understand and manage pediatric disease. Resources on community and public health-based issues are available as well. Consider the Center an additional resource for you. It cannot replace the medical information or treatment advice provided by your team of pediatric caregivers.
Computer stations are available for you to access your e-mail account. If you wish, you can also set up a Care Page, a free Web page to help you communicate with others if your child is in the hospital. A copier, fax machine, medical journals, and more are available.
The Center is open six days a week: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visit the Blum Patient and Family Learning Center on the hospital’s first floor, in the White Building, main corridor. Or call 617-724-7352 for more information.
