John Patrick T. Co, MD, MPH is a practicing general pediatrician, medical educator, and researcher. Dr. Co’s research focuses on two areas: 1) Improving the quality of care for children and 2) Medical education. Current work includes: 1) Developing strategies to enhance the Partners electronic medical record system to improve the quality of ambulatory care services for children and 2) Measuring and improving communication skills of pediatric residents. As Associate Director for Graduate Medical Education for Partners Healthcare, Dr. Co works to optimize residency and fellowship training throughout Partners. As Chair of the Association of Pediatric Program Director’s Research Task Force, Dr. Co works to improve the quality of research in pediatric graduate medical education.
Dr Co is an Instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Assistant in Pediatrics at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children. Dr. Co was educated at Cornell University, Stanford Medical School, and Harvard School of Public Health. He completed his pediatric residency at Stanford University, fellowship in health services research at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, and was a fellow in General Pediatrics Academic Development at Johns Hopkins and a Curtis Prout Academy Fellow at Harvard Medical School.
