Genetics and Teratology Elective Information

Goals and Objectives Summary:

The residents participate in the daily Genetics Clinic and in in-patient consultations in diagnostic evaluations of individuals referred because of multiple malformations. The focus is on both establishing a differential diagnosis as well as developing a systematic approach in diagnostic studies. In addition, the residents participate in the management of individuals being followed with inborn errors of metabolism. Attendance at specialty clinics, such as Prenatal Diagnosis, Williams Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis and Lysosomal Storage Diseases is encouraged.
