The Lurie Center at Massachusetts General Hospital provides ongoing developmental care for adults with autism spectrum (ASD) and related developmental disorders.

Our adult services are offered to individuals 14 years of age and older. Although we do not provide primary care, our adult neurodevelopmental specialist assesses individual needs, develops recommendations and provides coordination of care among providers, helping to find medical specialists and therapists serving adults with developmental disabilities. Our adult services offer guidance in vocational, legal, community and educational resources through our family support clinician, and our adult team is active in transitioning youth to adult services at age 22. We are also able to assess patients at group homes and jobsites or day habilitation centers on a consultative basis to help coordinate care and enhance communication among guardians, caregivers and medical specialists. We can assess whether an underlying medical problem is the cause for new or intensified behaviors, and collaborate with day programs to help support adult clients.
