The Lurie Center is committed to guiding families of children and adolescents with autism spectrum (ASD) and other developmental disabilities as they navigate the various service systems. We offer a team of trained specialists who collaborate with our physicians and other providers to offer support and information to families. Our specialists first meet with families when an initial diagnosis is made and are available to help families navigate the complex systems related to a new diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder. Our family support clinicians can provide information about early intervention, specialty programs, the public school system, special education laws and community based agencies.
Our family support clinicians often act as liaison between the physician and the parent and our goal is to have our specialists develop long-term relationships with families to provide ongoing support.
