Meet the Team
The Developmental NeuroPediatric Program at MassGeneral Hospital for Children was created to efficiently and rapidly evaluate children between 18 months and 6 years of age suspected of having developmental delays.
Our team comprises a child neurologist, a neuropsychologist, a child psychiatrist, speech/language services, and physical and occupational therapy. We assess children with complicated neuropsychiatric profiles and are particularly interested in global developmental delay.
The Developmental NeuroPediatric team has several goals:
- To shorten the length of evaluation for very young patients with global developmental delays
- To provide a unified consultation process that integrates the overlapping areas of neurology, psychiatry and neuropsychology
- To produce consultation recommendations and treatment plans that are accessible and include all services necessary for the care of young developmentally delayed children
- To foster the interdisciplinary academic and research work in neuro-developmental pediatrics
The NeuroPediatric team aims to ensure that each young child receives the necessary services as quickly as possible during their very critical windows of development. It also ensures that pediatricians receive support and information necessary to make their practices safer, reliable and more comfortable in caring for these complicated patients.
