- Pediatric Cardiology Program
The Pediatric Lipid Disorders Program at MassGeneral Hospital for Children provides evaluation and treatment of children with suspected or known familial or acquired lipid disorders, or whose family history (e.g., early myocardial infarction, familial hypercholesterolemia) suggests a familial lipid disorder.
Services, which may involve coordination with MassGeneral Hospital for Children and Massachusetts General Hospital specialists in gastroenterology and/or endocrinology, include management with diet, exercise and smoking-cessation and, when necessary, conservative use of medications. Also available are the services of Mass General’s Cardiac Metabolic Syndrome Program, which is tailored for patients at increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease resulting from obesity and/or metabolic syndrome.
