The North End Community Health Center provides comprehensive care to both adults and children. Primary health care is provided to persons eighteen and older by the Adult Medicine group, which is comprised of internists, nurse practitioners, and specialists. Services include routine physicals, health maintenance, management of ongoing medical problems, sick visits, and specialty visits. Pediatric care begins before a child is even born with counseling for parents. Infants, children, and adolescents are seen for routine physicals, immunizations, counseling, sick visits, and management of ongoing medical problems. All services for all age groups are provided in English and Italian. Patients followed at the center can contact us in an emergency after hours by calling 617-643-8000 and asking for the adult or pediatric doctor to be paged.

Office Hours
The office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (urgent care by appointment only). On-call physician care is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Billing
We request that you make required payments or co-payments at the time of your visit. We accept cash, personal checks and Master Card, Visa, and American Express. Should you have questions regarding your bill, please call 617-643-8050.
Insurance
We accept most major insurance carriers, managed health care plans, Medicare and Masshealth; and provide a sliding fee scale based on income for those without insurance. There is also a Free Care option for those who qualify. Please confirm that we accept your health care plan before your first visit or when you change carriers. If your plan requires you to choose a primary care physician, please be sure to name your North End Community Health Center doctor.
Referrals
Your primary care physician is responsible for arranging all of your medical care, including referrals to specialists. If you think you require the care of a specialist, please call your primary physician to discuss the situation.
Prescriptions
Prescriptions can be refilled by calling 617-643-8111. Please leave your name, date of birth, phone number, name of the prescription, number of pills requested, and the number of your pharmacy if you want it called in. You may also choose to pick up your prescription at the health center. Please allow twenty-four hours for the call to be processed. For emergency prescriptions, physician coverage is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 617-643-8000 and asking for the doctor on call for Pediatrics to be paged.
Lab Results
Your primary care physician will be happy to discuss any lab results with you. In case of an urgent result, or if further tests are needed, a physician or nurse will call you as soon as possible.
