Prof. Daniel A. Lichtenstein, MD, Medical Intensivist, working since 1989 at Medical Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Ambroise-Pare, University of Paris-West (9 rue Charles-de-Gaulle, F-92100 Boulogne).
Has developed since 1985 the use of ultrasound at the bedside of the critically ill. First publication on whole body critical ultrasound submitted in 1991 (Intensive Care Med 19:353-355). Main publications turning around lung ultrasound in the critically ill for acute respiratory failure (BLUE-protocol) and acute circulatory failure (FALLS-protocol).
