Satish Bhagwanjee, MB, ChB
Satish Bhagwanjee, MB, ChB, is vice-chair for academic affairs and director of the Critical Care Training Program in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. He is also associate director of the United States Critical Illness and Injury Trials Group. His clinical focus is trauma, surgical and cardiothoracic intensive care. His research interests are outcome prediction in the critically ill and the development of regional mechanisms for critical care delivery.
Dr. Bhagwanjee established a model for delivery of critical care in South Africa, which led to the creation of the South African Critical Care Clinical Trials Group. He has received multiple awards for best research publications. His current investigative activity is the implementation of a critical care program for WWAMI, a partnership between the University of Washington School of Medicine and Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. Dr. Bhagwanjee is also currently creating models for critical care delivery to low-income countries.
