Dr. Ellinor attended medical school and graduate school at Stanford. As a graduate student he worked in the laboratory of Dr. Richard Tsien performing structure and function studies on voltage dependent calcium channels. He then went to Brigham and Women's Hospital for his medical residency followed by training in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Ellinor has appointments in the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service and in the Cardiovascular Research Center. Since 2003, Dr. Ellinor has been the Director of the Cardiac Step-Down Unit and the Co-Director of the Fellowship Program in Cardiac Electrophysiology at MGH.
