1. What are the costs of hospital services?

View the most current version of the Massachusetts General Hospital Rate Book. You can also look up the costs of procedures, including research discounts, in the Insight Clinical Trials Module using the procedure look up tool. The Budget Builder feature in this module allows study teams to develop clinical research study budgets and includes the most up-to-date information related to charges and research discounts.

What space is available for clinical research?

Research space at Mass General is managed by the Research Space Management Group (RSMG). Visit the RSMG page on the Research Intranet (Partners ID and password required for log-in outside of Mass General


3. Who do we contact about contracts?

The Partners Research Management (RM) Grants and Contracts Pre- and Post-Award teams are responsible for administrative oversight of research grants and compliance with sponsors' and Partners policies.

Partners Clinical Trials Office (CTO) Contract teams provide budgetary support and contract negotiation for industry-sponsored studies.


4. How do I get in touch with the Institutional Review Board (IRB)?

Contact information for IRB administrators and Partners Human Research Committee (PHRC) management and staff may be found via contact links on the Partners Human Research Committee (IRB) website (login using your Partners information). 


5. How do I locate the Research Pharmacy?

The Mass General Research Pharmacy is located within the main pharmacy in Gray Basement, Room 005. For more information about the Investigational Drug Service (IDS) contact John Vetrano, PharmD, Rph, Associate Chief of Pharmacy, Clinical Trials


6. I am developing a new lab test for a research study that's not a standard test. Who should I talk to for help with this?

Harvard Catalyst Clinical Research Center (HCCRC) Lab Services offer full-service clinical laboratory testing and specimen banking to support research at Mass General and Partners-affiliated organizations.


7. How do I correct a mistake on a fund?

Charge correction requests, for both hospital and professional charges, are now submitted using the Insight Patient Care Correction Module. From Patient Care Details, you can select the charges to be moved to a different fund or to insurance/self pay. You can also inquire about expected charges not posted to the fund including charges that have been billed to the patient in error.

You are able to provide Cost Transfer Justifications for fund to fund transfers greater than 90 days. The electronic form includes a text box for you to provide additional information.

Corrections can be submitted by anyone who has access to the fund in Insight – the PI, Study Coordinator, or Department/Grant Administrator.

If you do not have access to the Agreements Module in Insight or to Patient Care Details, contact your supervisor/PI for approval and then the Insight Help Desk to request access at the fund level. Detailed instructions are available on the Insight home page under Insight Documentation > Patient Care Correction Module.
