The Health Decisions Sciences Center at Massachusetts General Hospital conducts shared decision-making research, and measures the quality of these decisions.
The Health Decision Sciences Center (HDSC) is committed to improving the quality of decisions made by patients and health care providers diagnosing and treating a range of common medical conditions, such as hip and knee osteoarthritis, breast cancer and prostate cancer. The HDSC is involved in developing, implementing, and evaluating decision aids and decision quality measures to support shared decision-making in medical encounters.

In July 2015, Leigh Simmons, MD, medical director of the HDSC, and Karen Sepucha, PhD, director of HDSC, attended the International Shared Decision Making conference in Sydney, Australia.
