About the Treatment

Maxillofacial trauma is trauma to the head and face region caused most frequently by accident, injury or violence. Care for patients with type of injury often originates in the Emergency Department and may involve treatment, restoration and follow-up care by a team of dental specialists, including oral surgeons, prosthodontists, orthodontists and general dentists.

In the Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Dentistry, our practice offers its patients access to the full scope of dental specialists.

For more information on maxillofacial trauma, visit the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

About the Division of Dentistry

The Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Dentistry is a hospital-based group practice containing multiple dental specialists under one roof. Like traditional dental practices, we are open to the public and provide all aspects of preventive, therapeutic and restorative dental care.
