Periodontics
Periodontics is a dental specialty concerned with gums and gum disease.
Periodontal or gum disease not only can adversely affect oral function and esthetics, but also can adversely affect general health. Recent evidence shows an association between periodontal disease and heart attacks and strokes. Gum disease makes diabetes more difficult to control and vice versa. Periodontal health plays a crucial role in overall health.
Periodontal Diseases
Periodontal diseases, also called gum diseases, are serious bacterial infections that destroy the gums and the surrounding tissues of the mouth.
