In Boston, the subway system is known as the MBTA –
the Mass Bay Transit Authority – commonly called the "T."


The T comprises four lines, each known by a color:
Red Line

The easiest line to MGH is the Red Line, Charles Street/MGH station. [web site]
Please note that this station is not currently handicap accessible. The Orange and Green Line, North Station T-stops are the nearest handicap accessible stop. There is a free Partners shuttle bus that runs from these North Station MBTA stations to MGH.

Directions to the Charles Street/MGH Station – and then to MGH
• Take the Alewife-bound Red Line train to Charles Street/MGH Station
• Follow exit signs to MGH
• Follow Cambridge Street one block
• Take left onto North Grove Street
• The main entrance is straight ahead.
