The Center for Disaster Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital aims to improve health system emergency preparedness, response and recovery through comprehensive planning and training programs.
A division within the Department of Emergency Medicine, the Center for Disaster Medicine (CDM) oversees all preparedness and emergency management efforts at Mass General. The CDM helps organizations anticipate, plan, and train for, practice and respond to, and recover and learn from disaster events.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have recently published requirements to establish consistent emergency preparedness requirements for participating healthcare providers. These regulations went into effect on November 16, 2016, and healthcare providers and suppliers must comply and implement all regulations effective November 16, 2017. The MGH CDM is available to partner with your organization and ensure you are well-prepared to meet CMS Emergency Preparedness standards prior to the implementation date this November.
