Overview
The research in the Medoff Laboratory is dedicated to understanding the molecular basis of immune-mediated lung injury. Specifically we seek to delineate the mechanisms of lung inflammation as it relates to T cell-mediated lung disorders such as asthma, lung transplant rejection and respiratory viral infections. The laboratory utilizes cutting edge molecular biology techniques, genetic manipulation of mice, animal modeling of lung disease, integrative genomics, and translational studies in humans to understand these disease processes.
The laboratory is affiliated with the Pulmonary and Critical Care Unit in the Department of Medicine at MGH, as well as the Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases, and the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. We have collaborations with MGH laboratories in the Gastroenterology Unit, the Diabetes Unit, the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology, the Department of Molecular Biology, and the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine.
