J. Carl Pallais, MD, MPH, received his BA in Biology and his MD from the Johns Hopkins University. Prior to starting medicine residency, Dr. Pallais received his MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health and conducted research in immunology as a Howard Hughes Research Fellow. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Mass General in 2002 and was chosen as Chief Resident in recognition of his teaching and clinical skills.
He subsequently completed his clinical and research fellowship in endocrinology at Mass General, working with patients as well as knockout mice to study autoimmune hyperparathyroidism and the neuroendocrine regulation of the reproductive axis.
He is currently an active member of the Endocrine Unit and the Inpatient Clinician Educator Service in the Department of Medicine. He serves as the director of the Endocrine Rotation at Mass General and is working with faculty members at Mass General and the Broad Institute to incorporate genetics education into clinical training.
