Biography

David Ring, MD PhD is Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Research of the Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Extremity Service at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Jesse Jupiter, he has become an authority on complex arm trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction. His PhD from the University of Amsterdam was on the psychosocial aspects of arm illness.

He has published 160 original research papers, 150 reviews or book chapters and edited 4 books. He is a Deputy Editor for The Journal of Hand Surgery and The Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, and he is on the Editorial Boards of The Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and Shoulder and Elbow.
