BiographyDr Sosnovik is an Attending Cardiologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His clinical interests lie in general cardiology, heart failure, valvular and congenital heart disease. Dr Sosnovik's principal research interests lie in the development of novel cardiac imaging modalities. Prior to coming to the MGH to begin his cardiology fellowship, he spent several years as a research fellow in the department of Physics at Washington University. After completing his general cardiology training, Dr Sosnovik pursued advanced training in cardiovascular MRI at the MGH. He also trained in two large research centers at the MGH: The Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and the Center for Molecular Imaging Research.
Dr Sosnovik is currently the Director of Cardiac Imaging in the MGH-MIT Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and the MGH Center for Molecular Imaging Research. His research focuses on molecular imaging, diffusion MRI of the myocardium, high field MRI, the development of new contrast mechanisms and rapid imaging techniques, and novel platforms for advanced imaging in humans. Dr Sosnovik has published over 50 papers in these fields and has been awarded several grants by private foundations and the NIH. He is a member of the affiliated faculty in the Harvard-MIT division of Health Sciences and technology (HST) and plays an active role in teaching in both the MIT and Harvard communities.
