Karsten Kueppenbender, MD, CGP is the Associate Medical Director of the MGH West End Clinic where he oversees the group therapy program. He is an Instructor in Psychiatry, part time, at Harvard Medical School and teaches and supervises residents and postgraduate fellows. He facilitates groups that help patients with alcohol and drug use disorders, with or without co-occurring psychiatric illnesses, tailored to motivation and interest of the participants: from people who are beginning to wonder if their substance use interferes with competing life goals, to persons who are committed to abstinence and value group therapy as a tool to living a productive and fulfilled life in recovery.
