MGHfC named to best pediatric hospitals list

The MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC) has again earned a spot on U.S. News & World Report's annual honor roll of the nation's top pediatric hospitals. The MGHfC was ranked against nearly 100 children's hospitals nationwide and is one of only two pediatric hospitals in Boston to make the list. Several individual MGHfC specialties were recognized for their excellence, including Kidney Disorders, for which MGHfC ranked six, and Diabetes/Endocrine Disorders, for which MGHfC ranked 11. Also among the MGHfC top listed specialties were Neurology and Neurosurgery; Digestive Disorders; and Respiratory Disorders.

On making the list, Ronald E. Kleinman, MD, MGHfC physician-in-chief, says, "We are delighted to be ranked among the best children's hospitals and to be able to deliver the best family-centered care possible to all our patients."

The U.S. News & World Report's ranked hospitals were chosen based on reputation, outcome and care-related indicators such as nurse staffing levels and patient volume.
