A whole new image: Radiology is now Imaging
Launching a new "image," the MGH Department of Radiology now will be known as Massachusetts General Hospital Imaging. The identity change comes as a result of careful research and feedback that considered the perspectives and preferences of referring physicians, patients and MGH employees.
"The technology we use for diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures has expanded beyond the traditionally perceived meaning of 'Radiology,' so going forward we feel 'Imaging' best expresses the breadth of services and expertise we offer for patients and clinicians," says James Thrall, MD, radiologist-in-chief.
Mass General Imaging or simply Imaging will be incorporated into all communications, and visitors to any of the hospital or community locations will see updated signs and information featuring the new name.
