Walker joins American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Bruce Walker, MD, director of the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard, is among 229 individuals who have been selected to join the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) this year. Walker is being recognized for his longstanding efforts to identify a vaccine against AIDS. The AAAS, which was established in 1780 by John Adams and other founders of the United States, is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious honorary societies. The new class of members, comprising leaders in science, social science, humanities, art, business and public affairs, will be inducted at a ceremony Oct. 9 in Cambridge, Mass.
