According to a study conducted by Mass General Imaging researchers, primary care physicians prefer to deliver the results of radiology exams to patients.
Survey examines primary care perspectives on radiology reporting
Published in the February issue of the Journal of the American College of Radiology, research that examined primary care physicians’ perspectives on radiology reporting found that they prefer to deliver the results of radiology exams to patients. Using an online survey, Mass General physician Andrew J. Gunn and colleagues found that the majority of respondents were satisfied with radiology reporting and recommendations in general. Ninety-five percent felt that the ordering physician should deliver the results of radiology exams, and 94% felt obligated to follow radiologist recommendations.
