As the Associate Residency Director of HAEMR, he assists with curricular planning and integrating informational learning with the development of Core Competencies within the resident training program. Dr Takayesu is actively pursuing the integration of Core Competency education and assessment within our EM residency program. He continues to pursue effective methods of transitioning medical students from the pre-clinical to the clinical phase of their education. Currently Dr. Takayesu is integrating simulation into the EM residency curriculum and working on a reproducible curriculum for EM training that covers all of the ACGME core competency goals with the use of seminar-based teaching and simulation. After publishing an original article on communicating with patient in the ED, he hopes to pursue further research on how we may improve the communication we and our residents have with our patients.
