BiographyDr. Michael Filbin, attending physician in the department of emergency medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a residency in the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency Program (HAEMR) at Brigham and Women's and Massachusetts General Hospitals. Dr. Filbin attends full-time in the emergency department and is also involved in clinical research, medical student and resident education, and wilderness medicine.

ResearchDr. Filbin's primary research interest is in the treatment of septic shock. He is a co-investigator in ProCESS, a multicenter, NIH-funded study investigating emergency treatment strategies for septic shock. Dr. Filbin works in partnership with other Boston hospitals and investigators around the country to help find better ways to treat this deadly disease.
