Kohei Hasegawa, MD, is an EMNet fellow in clinical research at the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine. He is also an instructor of surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Hasegawa received his medical degree from Tokai University School of Medicine in Japan and his Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health with a concentration in quantitative methods. He was a resident in the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Mass General. In addition, Dr. Hasegawa completed an internship at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa.
Dr. Hasegawa has served as a peer reviewer of Annals of Emergency Medicine, the specialty's leading journal, since 2011.
Dr. Hasegawa has made significant contributions to the field of airway and respiratory emergency research. As principal investigator, he has assembled a team of researchers from more than 20 centers to conduct a large-scale study of emergency airway management and acute asthma management in Japan.
