The Massachusetts General Hospital Emergency Department Division of Global Health and Human Rights was founded in 2008. Our mission is to care for the world's most vulnerable by developing and facilitating health-care delivery, research, education, and capacity-building initiatives.
The Division's major strategic goal is to marshal the experiences and resources of the Mass General community to create short term and systemic change on global health issues that affect the most marginalized and vulnerable populations, and are often rooted in human rights abuses. The Division also aims to provide opportunities for learning and participation in our programs by the Mass General community. To that end, the Division has a number of education and training programs, including a Global Health Fellows program as well as a Global Health Grand Rounds series.
