Overview
The Kobayashi laboratory uses genetically manipulated mice to study the role of regulatory systems of gene expression during cartilage and bone development. At the genetic and molecular levels, understanding how gene expression is regulated during skeletal cell differentiation is the central question. One of my current interests is to elucidate the role of the posttranscriptional gene regulatory mechanisms through the microRNA pathway in bone development.
