1. Next ORCD Mentored Lunch Series for Research Faculty on May 19 -

The ORCD Mentored Lunch Series will be an opportunity for informal conversations between senior research faculty Mentors and junior research faculty from different departments, with each table seating one Mentor and four-six junior faculty. We encourage you to bring questions and topics of discussion. Below are dates and locations of the next three Mentored Lunches. If you would like to attend, please let us know which date(s) you are available by sending email to orcd@partners.org.

In your email, please note your department and HMS faculty rank as well as the date(s) you would like to attend. All luncheons will be held from 12 to 1:30 pm.

1. MGH Clinical Research Day on May 22 -

The Clinical Research Program invites you to MGH Clinical Research Day on Thursday, May 22, 2008. The theme this year is “New Environments for Clinical Research.”

The schedule includes a keynote address given by Isaac Kohane, MD, PhD, Lawrence J. Henderson Professor of Pediatrics and Health Sciences and Technology, HMS, CHMC, presentations by award winners, a panel discussion on the role of the future of clinical research within the HMS community and a poster session under the Bulfinch tents.

The keynote, award-winner presentations and panel will be held in the O'Keeffe Auditorium.
The poster session will occur under the Bulfinch tents. Please come be part of the day! Harvard Medical School designates this educational activity for a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.*

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Tribute Book for Women Faculty due July 9 -

This year, the Office for Women's Careers will be hosting our annual reception in conjunction with the Women in Medicine month celebration on September 18, 2008 under the Bulfinch Tent honoring the significant achievements of women faculty at MGH.

Once again, we will be putting together a Tribute Book which will be distributed at this reception. The book includes a list of:
  - MGH women faculty promoted from January 2007 to June 2008
  - The 2008 Claflin Award winners as well as the previous winners
  - Significant achievements during the calendar and academic year

In order to gather the information that will be included in this tribute book, we ask that you complete this 2-page word document and mail it to our office at womens.careers@partners.org. If you would like to be recognized in this year's book, please make sure to send your information by Monday, July 7, 2008.
