Nancy Tarbell, MD
Dr. Tarbell is the CC Wang Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Pediatric Radiation Oncology Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital for Children. Dr. Tarbell is an internationally recognized expert in pediatric radiation oncology and pioneered the application of stereotactic radiation therapy for pediatric brain tumors. Consistently listed in The Best Doctors of America (Woodward and White), Dr. Tarbell serves on the national Children's Oncology Group Brain Tumor Committee and Chairs the Radiation Oncology Committee of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium. She is a member of the prestigious Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and has authored more than 200 original publications and chapters. She is currently the Director of the Center for Faculty Development and the Office for Women's Careers at MGH.

Donna M. Lawton
Donna is a senior level manager with extensive project management experience and a proven track record of achievement in the healthcare industry. She has experience in information systems’ evaluation, planning and implementation in complex environments, as well as administrative operations management. Donna comes to us from Partners, where most recently, she has worked on a range of revenue cycle projects including COMPASS and PACE here at MGH. Prior to Partners, Donna had worked at MGH in various departments since she began her employment here in 1984. These areas include Clinical Administration, Registration, Ambulatory Care Business Office, Patient Accounts and Information Systems. Donna is a graduate of Providence College where she received a BS in Health Services Administration. Donna's volunteer activity includes assisting at the Milton Food Pantry.

Brenda I. Vega
Brenda is a 1995 graduate of Chelsea High School. She is currently working towards her Bachelors in Science degree in Web Design and Multimedia through Westwood College Online. She has worked at the Massachusetts General Hospital since January of 2000 as a Patient Care Coordinator in the Internal Medicine Unit and a Staff Assistant in the Geriatric Research Laboratory. Prior to working at MGH, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the New England Environmental Protection Agency. Brenda is fluent in English and Spanish.

Tayyaba Hasan, PhD
Dr. Hasan is a Professor of Dermatology at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine and an affiliate Professor of the Health Science Technology program at HMS/MIT. She has an active research program in photobiology and photodynamic therapy with over 150 publications, with research funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and industry. She is the Program Director for a National Cancer Institute funded multi-site Program Project Grant. Dr. Hasan has served on the Promotions, Appointments & Reappointments committee and is currently a member of the Sub-committee of Professors, and Faculty Council at Harvard Medical School. Her record of service to the community spans many years and includes participation in SRRP, SRAC, several search committees, and chairing the Joint Committee on the Status of Women of Harvard Medical School/Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Hasan serves on a number of scientific advisory boards in academia and industry, international review boards, and study sections for NIH and other funding agencies.

Ann Skoczenski, PhD
Dr. Skoczenski comes to the Office for Research Career Development from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where she was an Associate Professor of Psychiatry, faculty member of the Program in Neuroscience, and Director of the Infant Vision Laboratory at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center. Her research focused on visual neuroscience, human development and developmental disabilities. She has served on the Women’s Issues Committee and the Diversity Committee for the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology; the Women’s Faculty Committee at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and an ad hoc women in science discussion group at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. She is eager to transfer her experience in research and academic medicine to develop programs for research faculty and postdocs, and assist in all professional development matters.

Peggy Ryan
Peggy is a recent graduate of Assumption College with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Concentrating in writing and mass communication, Peggy had the privilege of being made Director of WACTV, a student-run, on campus news program. Her many extracurricular activities included being an on-air talent as news anchor and entertainment reporter, writing music reviews for the student-run campus newspaper, and numerous volunteer activities including working with the Special Olympics and the Baypath Humane Society. Peggy brings to the office a well-rounded balance of technical and writing skills that will help support the ORCD as it moves forward into new areas of career development for researchers and postdocs.

Mary Clark, PhD
Dr. Clark serves as a consultant on all aspects of academic appointments to departments and faculty in several hospitals affiliated with Harvard
Medical School. She holds sessions at MGH on Tuesdays, where she
meets individually with faculty to discuss their concerns about their
academic career, and with Department Heads to consider potential
promotions. She also meets with groups from academic departments to
discuss the appointments process and the criteria for promotion in the
Faculty of Medicine
Dr. Clark was Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs at Harvard Medical
School from 1990 to 2004, and was responsible for managing the academic
appointments process for all faculty appointees in the Faculty of
Medicine.
Dr. Clark received her B.Sc. in chemistry from Queens University,
Belfast, Northern Ireland, and her Ph.D. in endocrine chemistry from the
Royal Postgraduate Medical School of London University. She came as a
postdoctoral fellow to the Endocrine Unit at the Massachusetts General
Hospital and Harvard Medical School, and subsequently joined the Office
for Faculty Affairs in 1979.
