Program History and Mission

Mass General Senior HealthWISE (Wellness, Involvement, Support and Education) is a community benefit program of Massachusetts General Hospital and the Mass General Senior Health Practice. It was designed in 2002 to enhance the health and well being of older adults in the neighborhoods surrounding Mass General, and provides a wide array of services. The goal of HealthWISE is to improve health management through education and support, as well as provide opportunities for socialization, exercise and connection to community resources. Programs are offered on the Mass General campus, at local community sites, and three senior residences. All services are free of charge and open to individuals age 60+.

Membership

Membership to Senior HealthWISE is free of charge. It includes monthly newsletter mailings with a listing of upcoming lectures, screenings and programs. It also includes a Mass General discount card for Mass General retail stores and food services. The card provides a ten percent discount at the following places within Mass General:
