Dr. Franco-Garcia grew up in Bogotá, Colombia. He received his medical degree from the Universidad El Bosque in Bogota in 2003. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College – Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan in 2011 and then served for an additional year as Chief Medical Resident before moving to Boston to take his fellowship position.

During Dr. Franco-Garcia’s Geriatric Medicine fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital he developed an interest in Geriatric Education, Quality Improvement, and the care for older adults with hip and other orthopedic injuries. He then joined the Senior Health faculty to support the Geriatric Inpatient Fracture Service (GIFTS) which he now directs. He also has a panel of primary care patients and is currently accepting new patients.

In Senior Health, and particularly in GIFTS, he has found an exciting and growing field in which to continue to develop his interests in aging, peri-operative care and quality improvement.

Dr. Franco-Garcia is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, and is a member of several professional societies, including the American Geriatric Society and the International Geriatric Fracture Society.
