Kathleen’s professional interests span a broad range but she particularly enjoys mentoring student nurse practitioners. She is a strong advocate for collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, therapy and social services to provide a holistic care approach for patients. Her strong knowledge of health care standards and experience as a clinical professional have served her well functioning as an Expert Witness Consultant for health care related litigation cases.
She resides just outside of Boston, close to her extended family, but has also lived in Alaska, Louisiana and Minnesota. Kathleen enjoys relaxing with her husband and three young daughters as well as coaching youth soccer.
“I grew up watching my Grandma K, a retired Registered Nurse, caring selflessly for her aging family members in her own home. She taught me through example that “in our family elders are to be valued, cherished and respected”. As a child, this made a lasting impression on me. I strive to emulate that same type of care for all my patients. Each patient should be treated with dignity and the very best care we can provide.” ~ Kathleen McCarey, NP
