Lisa Mortimer, LICSW
Lisa Mortimer, LICSW, has worked at Mass General since 1991 and joined Senior Health in November of 2008. Originally from Baltimore, MD, she received her B.A. in History at Kenyon College and Masters in Social Service from Bryn Mawr College. Prior to coming to MGH, Lisa worked at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital in Paoli, PA and Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden, MA.
Lisa started her career at MGH on inpatient wards, in Orthopedics, Neurology, and General Medicine. Thirteen years ago, she transitioned to outpatient, and has worked for MGH Internal Medicine Associates providing adult psychotherapy. She has especially enjoyed working with people around aging, caregiving, and end-of-life issues, and was eager to expand her knowledge and experience by joining MGH Senior Health.
Social workers at Senior Health are available to patients and families to provide assistance with exploring options, to facilitate family communication, and to support patients and families in challenging situations.
Lisa moved to the Boston area in 1990. When she is not at work, she enjoys family time with her husband and two young daughters. She also loves to read, do crossword puzzles, and hike.
“It is a privilege to be invited into the lives of our patients and families and to walk with them through some of the most challenging transitions in life.”
