  Psychodynamic / Interpersonal Groups for Adults:
  Adult Psychotherapy Group
Mixed gender group for adults ages 25-70 who want to improve their social relationships and work on the issues that underlie their problems/symptoms. Most members are not having difficulty with work and have significant relationships. All members are in concurrent individual psychotherapy.

  Mixed gender group for adults who are struggling with chronic emotional disorders that have required hospital care in the past.

  Mixed gender group for adults who are having problems forming good relationships. Most have held jobs in the past, but may now be struggling to keep a job.

  Mixed gender group for adults age 20 and over with anxiety and mood disorders, who want to improve their relationships.

  Mixed gender group for adults age 35 and over with anxiety and mood disorders, who want to improve their relationships.

  Mixed gender group for adults aged 30 to 60’s with mild to moderate emotional and interpersonal difficulties. Most people in the group have a history of depression and about 75% are taking medication for their emotional symptoms.

Mixed gender group for adults aged 20’s to 50’s challenged with severe difficulties forming and maintaining relationships. Many people in the group are also in individual psychotherapy and have required psychiatric hospitalization in the past.

Mixed gender group for adults experiencing loneliness and/or difficulties with relationships. Members should be interested in learning more about how others perceive them (and how they impact others) by participating in this group.

  Adolescent Groups:
 
  Mixed gender group for teens who want an open forum to discuss their thoughts and feelings with peers. Some of the issues that members struggle with include depression or mood instability, low self esteem, social anxiety, and academic problems.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy:
Structured therapy designed specifically for patients with borderline personality disorder. Group requirements include individual psychotherapy and a clear ongoing commitment to consistent attendance.

  18 week skills training groups open to patients who do not meet borderline personality disorder symptom criteria, but who could benefit from improved coping skills in the areas of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.

  • Advanced Dialectical Behavior Therapy:
Structured therapy designed specifically for patients with borderline personality disorder who have completed previous skills training. This group is designed to assist patients in their utililization and generalization of DBT skills and principles. Group requirements include individual psychotherapy and a clear ongoing commitment to practicing skills.

  • Short-term psychotherapy group for Adults with Eating Disorders:
Mixed gender 12 week, symptom-focused group for adults coping with bulimia. The group includes interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and psychoeducational components. This group is held periodically throughout the year by the Eating Disorders Program.

  • Long-term psychotherapy group for Adult Women with Eating Disorders:
Long-term Psychodynamic group for women in the mid twenties to mid fifties who are struggling with an eating disorder.
