Mass General uses breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography) to help distinguish harmless abnormalities from real tumors, leading to fewer callbacks and less anxiety. Every mammogram is read by a radiologist with a singular focus and advanced training in breast imaging.

Women should talk to their doctor about their risk for breast cancer and when to get screened. Screening can help detect breast cancer early when treatment can be more effective.
