All patients are required to register in order to obtain a Mass General Medical Record Number (MRN), also known as a blue card, before an exam can be scheduled. If you have never registered, or to verify your number, please call the Registration Center at 866-211-6588. Please have the following information available:

• Name
• Address
• Date of birth
• Social security number
• Insurance information
• Emergency contact information

An order from your doctor is required for all imaging exams and procedures except for annual screening mammograms. In fact, in most cases your doctor will schedule your exam for you and notify you of the appointment time.

If your doctor has given you a written exam request or a prescription, you may schedule your appointment yourself in one of two ways:

• Contact any of our locations directly. Each location offers a different mix of exams, so please consult our service availability chart.
• Call our central scheduling office at 617-724-XRAY (9729) and speak with one of our imaging service representatives.
