Recruitment Initiative

MAO works closely with all 21 MGH affiliated residency programs in their recruiting efforts. Residents and fellows also share their unique experiences at MGH with students and potential applicants.

National Residency Recruitment Fairs
MGH URM residents serve as ambassadors for the MGH, MAO, and their departments at Student National Medical Association and Latino Medical Student Association meetings and other residency fairs around the country.

Networking Receptions for URM Residency Applicants
During the MGH residency recruitment season, MAO organizes several receptions for URM applicants interviewed by MGH residency training programs. The reception provides an opportunity for applicants to meet URM MGH residents, fellows and faculty in a more relaxed setting and receive a perspective on training at the MGH and living in the Boston area.
