Dan Hunt, MD, FACP, is an Associate Physician at Mass General and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is a general internist focusing on hospital medicine, the Chief of the Hospital Medicine Unit, Director of the Inpatient Clinician Educator Service of the Department of Medicine and a Deputy Editor of the Journal of Hospital Medicine.
Dan joined the faculty of Mass General in September 2005. Dan practiced general internal medicine in private practice for eleven years in Houston before transitioning to a full time academic career in 1995. Prior to moving to Boston, he was a clinician educator at Baylor College of Medicine where he received over 35 major teaching awards during his ten years on the full time faculty. Dan received the Alfred Kranes Award for Excellence in Clinical Teaching at Mass General in 2006 and 2011, the Best Clinical Instructor Award from Harvard Medical School in 2008, and the Society of Hospital Medicine Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2011.
Dan's interests include care of hospitalized patients, teaching at all levels, venous thromboembolism and perioperative management.
