Biography

Clinical responsibilties in the MGH Internal Medicine Associates, MGH Complex Care Service (inpatients only), and Bigelow teaching service.  Administrative responsibilities in the MGH Department of Medicine in the areas of quality improvement, patient safety, and care redesign; medical director of the MGPO Continuous Care Initiative; associate medical director of the MGH Integrated Care Management Program.  Education and training responsibilities in the MGH Department of Medicine Residency Program in the areas of health policy, quality improvement, and patient safety; co-director of the MGPO Fellowship in Health Policy and Management.

ResearchResearch interests: 1) delivery innovations for increased efficiency and improved quality of care; 2) improving the inpatient experience of continuity of care, in particular the role of patients' longitudinal physician(s) in improving the quality of inpatient care; 3) designing and evaluating programs to improve the education of residents and medical students in health policy, quality improvement, and patient safety.
