Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Massachusetts General Hospital Stanbury Physician-Scientist Pathway (PSP). This program was founded with the goal to shape and develop the next generation of physician-scientist leaders. To accomplish this, we match the unparalleled clinical and research environments offered by Mass General and its affiliates with a personalized approach to mentorship. By acting as your guides to all that the Boston biomedical environment has to offer, we provide individualized mentorship to facilitate your growth from clinical training in residency and fellowship, through your scientific growth as a fellow, and onwards as you establish your own independent laboratory. The Stanbury PSP is a residency program, but the mentorship and community continue throughout your entire career.

Since Mass General opened its doors in 1821, it has been a bastion of science and learning. With Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigators, as well as Lasker and Nobel awardees as part of our past and current faculty and trainees, so many fundamental discoveries in medicine have been made and shaped here. We look to you to continue this great tradition of physician-scientists at Mass General, and we are here to help.

Sincerely,
Caroline Sokol, MD, PhD
