The Neonatal Clinic

The Neonatal and Infant Neurology Follow-Up Program sees children with a wide variety of neonatal and infant neurological problems, including developmental and neuromuscular problems and seizure disorders of infancy. Children identified with or suspected of neurodevelopmental problems are seen by an attending child neurologist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and, as needed, are referred to appropriate subspecialty services, such as gastroenterology, pulmonary, ophthalmology, audiology and early intervention.

Our staff has particular expertise in the treatment of developmental delay, neonatal seizures, intracranial hemorrhage, neonatal strokes and neuromuscular disorders. As NICU-treated infants are at risk for various neurodevelopmental problems, the follow-up program offers an opportunity to screen children early to implement needed interventions and provides counseling for the family.

Attending Physician: Kalpathy S. Krishnamoorthy, M.D.
