RESEARCH

Research

Research efforts in memory disorders are coordinated through the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC), and the MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease.
Progress in research relies upon basic science laboratory research and clinical studies in which physicians learn from their patients while simultaneously treating them. Studying the causes and course of these disorders is necessary to find effective treatments.

To complete the study of a disease cycle, our research activities must also include postmortem brain examinations. If you would like to consider donating a brain for research, please work with your doctor to learn how to make the necessary arrangements.

Clinical Trials

The Memory Disorders Unit is affiliated with and refers patients to clinical trials conducted through the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. Eligibility for participation in clinical trials may be obtained from the Memory Disorders Clinic Coordinator, Christine M. Cunha at 617-726-1728.
