31/Jul/2009
In recognition of its achievement, the MGH was featured alongside other GWTG award-winning hospitals in an advertisement in the "America's Best Hospitals" issue of U.S. News & World Report. Hospitals can receive the award in the areas of coronary artery disease, heart failure or stroke.
"I am so proud of the MGH stroke service and its commitment to excellence and adherence to evidence-based care," says Lee Schwamm, MD, vice chair of the MGH Department of Neurology, chair of the multidisciplinary Acute Stroke Quality Taskforce at the MGH and national chairman of the GWTG steering committee. "It is an honor for us to receive this recognition and gratifying to know that it translates directly into better recovery, fewer recurrent strokes and healthier lives for our stroke patients."
